One Year in the Blog World and Somerset Studio

Well I have been using a blog for one year now! Not as often as I would like, but I am getting much better now the house is coming together and some of my projects are being completed. DH is away on the West cost this week, so it's one busy week. Oh and I have lost my voice too! DH did not time his trip too well (LOL)!

I got my latest Somerset Studio in the mailbox and was so pleased that they used both of my Halloween pieces in the gallery. It feels like such an honour of having my work put into print, and is so exciting to see my little pieces in there. I see my friend Jen Osborn is in there too, but need to take a better look at it this weekend. I think Jen is working in one of my books too. It has been a long worldwide round robin, but the artwork is bloody brilliant - well worth the wait to get it home. I also see another artist friend, working the same RR, Ruth Rae is in the process of having a "charm book" published. I was just admiring her fabric charms in the book I have to work on. Check her blog out. I will take photos of them and post them now they have been published. I will try and add them tonight. And, yes, I have not forgotten to post photos of my studio - I will try and do that this week too!

I am still working on the missing bag replacement, I have finally finished the embellishment and will post a photo of that too - just need to stitch it together, fill her up and mail it to the lady who did not receive the first one. Maybe I can get that finished tonight too, as long as my oldest son doesn't make me watch another Naruto episode!

Strawberry Pincushions (More) and Summer Fun

This is the strawberry pincushion I am sending out to TN and the Netherlands as part of an exchange. I made them from vintage red velvet fabric, it may be more than 75 years old and I was just waiting for the right project to use it. After the move I have been looking through by collection of vintage textiles and have decide to try and use them rather than keep them in a drawer!

My little boy at play on his favorite toy, when today's favorite toy - I am sure you know how that goes!
